Zhu Ran Tomb is one of themost important places discovered by archaeologist. Zhu Ran tomb is located in thesouthern Yushan District and was found when it was trying to build a textilefactory in June 1984. Some of the tombs were stolen at a veryearly age, but much funerary exquisite lacquer survived the disaster. In 1986, Zhu Ran tomb waslisted as a key cultural relic’s protection units in Anhuiprovince. The Provincial Bureau allocated 10000 yuan and the city localgovernment allocated 40000 yuan to build Zhu Ran tomb relics exhibition hall.Gallery for Han dynasty style antique buildings, ancient architecture byNanjing institute of technology, institute professor Liu Xujie design were allpart of the contribution to the exhibit. The pavilion is based on thecharacteristic of the tomb which is base on primitive simplicity. Den coffin, astatue, is located in the hall way of the pavilion which is the central part ofthe tomb. Thewooden coffin inside and outside surface contains a layer of linen, and greasycoating paint. Coffin for external use has black and red paint. Structures ofZhu Ran’s tomb were unearthed more than 140 years ago. Thetomb was decorated with lacquer wood, porcelain, pottery, bronze, and etc. Thetomb contains 57% lacquer wood with series of drawing or pattern of animals andplant grain pattern on the lacquer ware.
