(1) City Conditions

In the urban area, general water supply capacity: 390,000 tons/day; waste water treatment capacity: 205,000 m3 /day; the centralized domestic sewage treatment rate: 81.4%
Over 100 substations of different sizes in the city (incl. one 500-kv substation, nine 220-kv substations, forty-one 110-kv substations and forty-nine 35-kv substations)
The contracted volume of natural gas supply at present is 110 millionm3 and will be up to 520 million m3  in  2015.
(2) City Development Plan 
The Twelfth Plenary Session of the Seventh Maanshan Party Committee has decided that “1255”city development strategy should be implemented in order to frame a modern big city integrated with the countryside with Maanshan characteristics.  
“1255”City Development Strategy:
One main urban area -- to be built into a main urban area over 100 km2
Two subsidiary urban areas--the Gushu urban area and the Danbo urban area
Five central towns—Xiangshan Town, Shiqiao Town, Huangchi Town Taibai Town and Niandou Town
Five Industrial functional areas—Various economic and development zones, South Riverside Demonstration Area for Carrying-on Industrial Transfer, Cihu Port Logistics Area,  Jiangxinzhou Ecological Tourism Area and Putang Leisure Vacation Area
